Super Happy Avengers Vertigo-rific Draw-athon

Finally drawing again. Some friends of mine decided to do an Avengers Draw Challenge thingy as a countdown to the movie's release. I haven't really been drawing much lately, so this is a good chance to hop back on (or off?) the wagon. For the last week and a half or so, I've been sorta physically wierding out. I think I have vertigo? Or at least it seems like it. I have a doctors appointment soon, so I'll know soon enough what's up. So, I'm going to try real hard not to fall behind on this, as sometimes I get too dizzy to want to stare at a screen.

Day 20: Left Retail

late post. And a quick drawing. Sorry this weekend has been kind of busy, wish I was able to put more time into it. It's me running away from Buck the Bunny. Now I don't want to go on a rant here, but I totally despise retail. I've worked with customers since I was 14 up until late 2011. Though I don't regret a single moment of it, because it did shape me into what I am, I have never dealt with anything that ever ate away at my soul and made me lose faith in the human race as much as working retail. God bless those employees. It is a tough job dealing with the deteriorating intelligence of mankind. I'm totally aware it is always a possibility I'll go back, and I'll be ready if that time were to come, cause I'm damn good at it. I just really hope it doesn't.

This is way more than I normally like typing in my posts. I'm not much of a writer. Congratulations if you read all the way through and thanks. And remember, next time an employee somewhere accidently gives you the wrong game or screws up in some way, please be kind. We're all human. Don't be that customer. END RANT.

Day 19: New Job

Last year, my barely-literate weird-lookin' self somehow managed to get a job. For the first few weeks I was convinced it was a really elaborate prank, cruel joke, or weird scheme against me that would reveal itself soon enough. Truth is I'm still suspicious...

Day 18: Trip to L.A.

Yes, I went to L.A. twice this year. Once for school and once with the girlfriend. While there we took this horseback riding thing along the cliffs where the HOLLYWOOD sign is, and it was the most terrifying moment of my life. My horse was literally walking on the edge of the cliff. The trainer told me that that's normal and some of the horses just like walking there....never again.

Day 17: Semester In L.A.

Last January I was fortunate enough to have had the chance to go to a course Columbia College had in L.A. While there, we got to visit a couple of the big studios there, see a lot of cool stuff, and talk to a lot of cool people. It was a blast. And I got to room with fellow animator Jacob Funk...which was...interesting...

Also, before anyone tries to murder me or something, I realize this particular doctor's sonic screwdriver is blue not green. I don't feel like opening up photoshop again tonight, so there...

Day 12: Spaced

Ohhhhhh Spaced! I absolutely love this show. I was actually introduced to it a few years ago by an old teacher of mine (BJ Crawford) but didn't watch the full series until early this year. This was kind of a quick drawing. Which is why it looks a bit fwonky...sorry....

Day 11: BBC's Sherlock

Forgive the lateness of my posts my internet has been down for a few days.

So I've reached my top 5 tv shows of 2011. Except I didn't watch any shows that actually premiered that year, so I'm just going to list the top 5 shows that I started watching in 2011. First beginning with BBC's Sherlock. Although this show is only 3 episodes long, its pretty darn good.

Day 10: Skyrim

SKYRIM!! My god this is an addicting game. I've wasted so much time on it doing pointless things like catching fireflies or collecting cheese wheels. You know...manly warrior stuff...

Day 09: Batman Arkham City

I'm pretty sure something around these lines happened in the game at some point. Probably my most anticipated game ever and it did not disappoint. I was incredibly gitty every minute of the game.

Day 08: Skyward Sword

Never has a game made me feel like a total badass, while actually probably looking like a complete loser. I love this game. A wonderful addition to the rest of the awesome Legend of Zelda titles.

Day 07: Bastion

This was a game I got introduced to pretty late in the year, but quickly became a favorite. It's an incredibly fun game and not to mention how beautiful the art style is. Probably the best game art style I've seen since Braid. Anyways, here's me taking a crack at digital painting, something I hadn't done in quite a while

Day 06: Limbo

Had an incredibly hard time choosing my 5 best games for 2011. There were so many good ones this year. Limbo was one of those puzzle games I didn't want to end.

Day 03: Rise of The Planet of the Apes

If i remember this movie correctly, its about an angry ape that wears a sweater, so thats what i drew. Pretty good movie.

It's day 01 and I'm already posting late. That's no good. One of my favorite 2011 movies that makes my top 5 cut is Hobo with a shotgun. It's not exactly a "good" movie, but I have a thing for really bad movies. So there.

Dear God! More Draw Challenges!?!?

So. keeping the productivity train moving along, November brings more draw challenges. Originally me and Trevor had planned a Muppets draw-a-thon leading up to the movie coming out on the 23rd. However, it came to out attention that Comix Tribe was hosting a 30 Day Character draw challenge in November. People register and whip out a new character everyday of November. We couldn't miss out and so we're doing both challenges. I however am not as brave as Trevor and am making 30Characters my primary goal, and Muppets into a secondary (More of a warm up) Post-it sketch challenge. Here's the muppet list:
